When pets have a medical emergency, being prepared can be the difference between life and death. The Escondido Humane Society’s upcoming Pet First-Aid class will ensure pet parents know what to do should an emergency strike. Topics will include instructions for creating a pet first-aid kit; how to recognize symptoms and care for common pet ailments and emergencies; and tips on maintaining your pet's health and well-being. The class will be taught by Sue Lockhart, an American Red Cross-trained instructor.
Our Pet First-Aid class is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Parkway. Cost is $40. To enroll, call Ina Shookhoff, director of education, at (760) 888-2261 or e-mail education@escondidohumanesociety.org.
